Bagshot Masonic Lodge makes generous donation

The Freemasons of Bagshot Lodge have made a generous donation to Disability Initiative with the cheque being presented to the Chief Executive, Lucy Brown, by Freemason Dave Diggins. The donation will allow DI to buy equipment and activities that always make such a huge difference to our clients.
Whilst Dave is no stranger to DI, he looked strange as clients and staff are usually used to seeing him in shorts rather than a suit!
Dave’s wife, Lyn, has been with DI since 1999, attending the charity when it was previously operating from the Ian Goodchild Centre before moving into its purpose-built resource centre. Dave persuaded the 40 strong members of Bagshot Lodge to make a donation to the charity that supports physically disabled people and those with acquired brain injury.
2010 is an exciting year for both DI and Lyn and Dave. In September, the charity celebrates 10 years in the building whilst Dave and Lyn celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Lyn will also be celebrating her 60th birthday next month and DI has its 35th anniversary of inception.
Lucy Browncomments, “We are always most appreciative of generous donations, it is the only way that the charity can function and give our clients the support and experiences they would otherwise not have dreamt possible. Every penny makes a difference”.
