Charity’s Garden Damaged by Vandals!

As staff and clients arrived at the resource centre based in Camberley on Wednesday 30th November, it was apparent that something was dreadfully wrong. The garden had been destroyed and benches and fencing decimated leaving clients upset that people should ruthlessly destroy something they found beautiful.
“I can’t believe that someone would do this to our garden”, comments John, one of Disability Initiative’s clients.
The garden had only just undergone an overhaul last spring to make it more accessible for people in wheelchairs so they could join their colleagues out in the open and participate in planting it up for all to enjoy.
It was all the more hurtful as the re-designed garden was the result of volunteers from BAM Nuttall sparing their time to help their local charity. With the economic climate as it is, the charity will have to raise funds to replace the fencing and benches so that the garden can be enjoyed by DI’s disabled clients.
