Chief Executive of Surrey County Council visits Disability Initiative in Camberley

David McNulty

David McNulty, the Chief Executive of Surrey County Council, recently visited the Resource Centre of Disability Initiative, on Thursday 4th March 2010.

The Chairman of DI, Derek Thomas, and Lucy Brown had the opportunity to discuss with David the future of services for the physically disabled across the county.  Discussions led to how Surrey County Council will respond to the Personalisation Agenda that the Government is rolling out around the country and the aspirations of the charity.

David went on to tour the resource centre and witnessed the range of programmes that DI has on offer for its clients and DI’s excellent approach to care and wellbeing for its clients.

David had many opportunities to chat with the clients who were either learning excel in the computer suite, doing cordon bleu cooking in the specially adapted kitchen or exercising on the MOTOmeds or doing yoga.

Lucy Brown, Chief Executive of Disability Initiative comments, “I am sure that David has fully absorbed the very positive and enjoyable atmosphere here at DI as well as being impressed by our unique approach to caring for the needs and aspirations of our clients.  It was a very worthwhile visit.”
