Disability Initiative appoints new chairman

Camberley based charity, Disability Initiative, is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Mallard MBE CStJ to serve as its new Chairman.

Commenting on Tony’s appointment, David Gill, Deputy Chairman, said, “I would like to welcome Tony to the Board of DI as Chairman.  Tony is a highly experienced voluntary and community leader with a wide range of knowledge and skills who has delivered success across public, commercial, charity and voluntary sectors.  His is very well respected in Surrey and his excellent leadership qualities will make a significant contribution to the charity and the individuals it serves”.

Tony Mallard said:

“I am delighted to be taking the chair of Disability Initiative following the retirement of Derek Thomas.  Disability Initiative is a successful charity and I look forward to leading the trustees and building on the achievements as DI strives to reach more disabled people.

I have already met many of the clients who attend DI and they are a great inspiration to all.  I promise to guide the board and staff to continue to deliver the high level of service it provides and for the charity to retain its current funding levels.”
