Disability Initiative puts the DI in the BBC’s DIY SoS...
One of DI’s clients, Lisa Lucas, was on national television last month. Having had her bedroom fully decorated by the team of BBC DIY SoS, the programme was aired on Thursday 16th April 2009.
Nick Knowles took a break from filming at Lisa’s house to visit DI at its resource centre in the heart of Camberley and see for himself what Lisa does during her two days a week at DI.
Lisa showed Nick the work she is doing towards her accredited IT course and was filmed during her functional mobility session, working hard on the newly acquired MOTOMed.
Lisa’s husband wrote to the producers at the BBC when he finished decorating their new extension downstairs but just could not manage to do the new bedroom.
Lisa states, “The BBC DIY SoS Team were all wonderful and I am so excited that I will be seen on the BBC!”.
