Running in memory

Lydia with her medal

Lydia Roe ran her first half marathon to raise funds for Disability Initiative in memory of her Aunt Lynda Hammond.

Lynda had been a client of Disability Initiative for many years, as a member, an advisor and a Trustee.

All of us at DI have memories and stories to tell about Lynda and are bereft to lose her, but are comforted knowing that her presence will endure. Indeed, the memory and inspiration of her Aunt kept Lydia going as she ran, even though her legs ached and her toes blistered.

Lydia proudly managed a time of 2 hours 17 minutes and she did not stop once!

We are, as always, very appreciative of anyone who donates money to DI especially if they themselves have achieved an ambition whilst doing so.

WELL DONE LYDIA
