DI’s Patron, HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh enjoyed a wonderful afternoon this week, held to pay tribute to the awesome DI carers who support their loved ones.
Mark De-Lisser , Music Maestro, created a spontaneous choir of Carers and visitors, who sang 2 songs, one for the Duchess and one with her joining the choir. Superb singing, laughter and some fabulous dance moves made every moment joyous, something all of us need when life throws out so many challenges! In the words of Charlie Mackesy’s Horse “Sometimes just getting up and carrying on is brave and magnificent”
DI’s President Bill Biddell, Chair Sir Andrew Morris and Lucy Brown, CEO, hosted and spoke of their admiration for the Carers and the DI Team.
We were delighted to welcome back The Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Micheal More-Molyneux and Tim Oliver Leader of Surrey County Council.
The Tea Shop Around The Corner provided a spectacular afternoon Tea spread, best cakes ever and the most wonderful start to the Festive Season.
