The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh hosted an event at Buckingham Palace this week and joined The Earl and Countess of Wessex in meeting staff and volunteers from a variety of charities of which they are President or Patron. Key supporters of the sports and arts fields were also at the event as were representatives from the Earl and Countess’s military appointments. The event also marked a belated celebration for the Countess of Wessex who recently turned 50.

Neil Jones, Chairman, Lucy Brown, Chief Executive and Nicky Hall, Occupational Therapist represented DI and were honoured to have been invited.

The Countess of Wessex has been Patron of Disability Initiate for nearly twelve years now and continues to take a keen interest in all of our work.
