Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Edinburgh has been Patron of Disability Initiative since 2003. A regular visitor, her support and encouragement have made a remarkable impact on everyone involved. She takes a genuine interest in each person and all aspects of our work.

Fundraising is a constant challenge and DI leans on voluntary donations to enhance essential services and expand programmes, facilities, and equipment.

Our Resource Centres offer specialised programmes in education, skills development, slow stream rehabilitation, and functional mobility, enabling people to recognise their accomplishments.

 Volunteer

Our volunteers are essential to the services we offer, supporting clients both in group sessions and one-to-one activities, such as cookery, computer skills, or community access.

They come from diverse backgrounds, bringing invaluable abilities and experience that greatly benefit DI and its clients.
